Volunteers Needed To Act As Regional Chairmen For North East England And Scotland
The Institute would like to hear from you if you would like to take on the role of regional chairman in either Scotland or the North East of England.
The Institute has established a Regional Council comprising twelve regions – North West, North East, Yorkshire and Humberside, West Midlands, East Midlands, Eastern, South West, South East, London, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Each region will have a regional chairman, who will assist the Institute with organising events, seminars and the CPD programme. Within each region there will be the opportunity for members to form an area group wherever there is sufficient support for regular meetings. Several of the regions already have established area meetings but the new structure is designed to encourage even more.
Are you interested in getting involved in your area? If you would like to help the Institute to organise meetings in your area, please contact the Institute on 0845 060 2345. It should not take up too much of your time and we will put you together with others who want to help.

The Institute recently became the only bookkeeping organisation in the Uk to be recognised by HM Treasury as a Supervisory Body under the new Money Laundering legislation. The Institute is organising a series of educational seminars to brief members on what the legislation will mean to them and the Institute’s new compliance programme. The new regional and area structure is an important part of the new programme and will enable members across the UK to keep fully up-to-date with requirements.
