Mystery email blip causes problems with Institute reminders

It has come to the Institute’s attention that some of the recent subscription renewal notices that were sent by email corrupted, resulting in much of the text being complete nonsense or strangely punctuated.

We apologise for this error, which apparently has only happened with a very small number of the emails, and we really have no idea why this happened. However, our head of IT, James Carter, feels that this may in some way be linked to the receiving email host, as it appears only to have happened in very few cases.

This is not to the high standards that we always strive to achieve here at the Institute so, even if was not directly our fault, we do sincerely apologise. Rest assured, normal service will be resumed as soon as possible – or at least when we find out why it happened and can correct the problem.
