Benefits of Membership in Practice

Benefits for Members in Practice

Members who wish to establish themselves in public practice to provide bookkeeping services to clients, can apply for the Institute's Practising Certificate. Associate Members, Members or Fellows, who are able to satisfy the Institute's criteria and undertake to follow the Professional Conduct Regulations, will be granted the Institute's Practising Certificate. They will also receive extensive marketing, technical and administrative support from the Institute. In addition to enjoying the normal benefits of membership, a practising member of the Institute also receives:

Practising Certificate sealed by the Institute
An information booklet providing useful guidance on establishing a bookkeeping practice, including how to find clients, what to charge and how to write a letter of engagement
The support of the Institute and the availability of professional or practical advice on running a practice
The right to use the Institute's heraldic crest on all stationery and promotional material and your web site
The availability of Professional Indemnity Insurance at specially negotiated rates through Trafalgar Risk Management (for quick quote: www.icbpi.co.uk)
Access to the Institute's corporate advertising programme in Yellow Pages
Notification of clients wishing to appoint an Institute practising member
